RPPL and JK Tire host Srinagar Indian Racing Festival debut | Other Sports News

Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL), headed by Hyderabad-based Akhilesh Reddy, is organizing the exciting Indian Racing Festival in partnership with JK Tire, a pioneer in introducing diverse motorsport subculture in India. It was a landmark moment in the history of Indian racing as two giants of Indian motorsport came together to take the sport to new heights. The 2024 Indian Racing Festival, which consists of the Indian Racing League (IRL), the FIA-backed Indian F4 Championship and the JK Tire FMSCI National Racing Championship (JKNRC), will kick off later this year. Each level of the season will be divided into five rounds, and the entire season will include more than ten games.

As part of a marketing strategy aimed at promoting motorsport, the promoters plan to organize exciting roadshows across the country. The vibrant promotion kicks off the season in style with its first stop in Srinagar on the banks of the picturesque Dal Lake in partnership with Jammu and Kashmir Tourism.

Often referred to as “Paradise on Earth”, Srinagar is home to unparalleled natural beauty, serene lakes and some rich cultural heritage. Spectators in Srinagar were given an early glimpse of what to expect at the start of the season as RPPL and JK Tire showcased the Wolf GB08 car and the Formula 4 car driven by young motorsport icon – Sohil Shah, lifting the their appetite. Two champions of the 2023 IRL: Formula 4 vice-champion Rishon Rajeev and Formula 4 Indian driver Shriya Lohia. As the engine roared across the 1.6-kilometer-long Dal Lake, people from all walks of life gathered together to witness the high-intensity action against the backdrop of majestic mountains and sparkling lake water.

The event also showcased JK Tire’s legacy as the architect of the domestic racing scene, with fans able to watch the company’s involvement in establishing the various motorsport highlights. These included a mesmerizing drift performance by Indian drift champions Sanam Sekhon and Pratik Dalal from Chandigarh, who displayed masterful handling in Lexus and BMW cars, from The Superbike Daredevils in Coimbatore and Bengaluru showcased the seamless collaboration between man and machine, with some adrenaline-pumping performances. Four-wheelers led by Indian Rally veteran Hari Singh. However, the highlight is undoubtedly the 10-year-old karting prodigies from Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Chennai who push the envelope at top speeds of 120km/h and bring excitement beyond the tarmac.
