Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant showed his true strength during his team’s win against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2024 match. Pant brilliantly dominated the GT bowlers and played an unbeaten inning of 88 runs off 43 balls, taking his team to a total of 224/4. Later, GT fought hard with half-centuries from Sai Sudarshan and David Miller, but it was not enough as DC restricted them to 220/8 and won the match by four runs. This was DC’s fourth win of IPL 2024.
After the win, Pant became the talk of the town as social media was flooded with lots of wishes and some funny memes about him.
A video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), which showed a hilarious imitation of Pant’s brilliant innings against GT. As soon as the video went viral, the DC captain reacted and wrote, “Very funny, looks good.”

Talking about the match, Pant, sent in to bat, led from the front, remaining unbeaten on 88 off 43 balls (5X4s, 8X6s), his innings proved to be a timely reminder to the national selectors that he was selected for India Barring fitness issues, he is likely to be selected in the first XI against Pakistan in the World T20 match in New York.
Pant’s maturity was on display when he carried on his innings brilliantly with Axar, who scored 66 off 43 balls after being promoted to number three. His innings included five fours and four sixes.
In reply, Sai Sudarshan (65 off 29 balls) and David Miller (55 off 23 balls) scored fifties, while Rashid Khan scored 21 not out from 11 balls, but still could not take GT over the line. Due to which their score ended at 220 runs for 8 wickets. 20 overs.
“Every day I’m in the middle, I feel better. Every hour on the field counts, I love being on the field. I try to give my 100% and sometimes it takes a while. I think the matches give me confidence in the game,” Pant said after the first six wins. The more time I spend at the centre, the better I feel.”
DC will now face Mumbai Indians in their next IPL 2024 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday.
