Journalists traveling on Air Force One, the presidential plane, have developed a habit of pocketing souvenirs.

A media report said dozens of reporters quietly took items bearing the Air Force One insignia from the press department on the presidential plane.

A report released Friday is shocking as it reveals a bizarre but widespread phenomenon of souvenirs being stolen from the Air Force One press department. Politico’s investigative reporting revealed that items bearing aircraft insignia were smuggled into pockets. The stolen items included everything from engraved glasses to plates and whiskey glasses to wine glasses.

According to Politico, “For years, dozens of reporters and others have quietly stuffed everything from engraved whiskey glasses to wine glasses into their bags before getting off planes. inside.”

In an email sent to its members last month, the White House Correspondents’ Association recently issued a stern notice about items missing from the press room.

It is worth mentioning that media organizations pay for journalists’ flights and in-flight meals. However, some people still have souvenirs stashed in their pockets, like M&Ms with the presidential seal.

Politico reports that reporters heard the clink of plates and glassware in their backpacks as they stepped off the plane.

In one incident, a former White House correspondent hosted a dinner where he served food on gold-rimmed Air Force One plates, but over time the plates were stolen from the press briefing room.

At least one reporter carefully returned an embroidered pillowcase during a meeting arranged by press officials after the White House Correspondents Association issued a warning, Politico reported.
