Red Bull is preparing to launch one of the most advanced supercars on the market by 2025. It will be called RB17. The news was confirmed by Red Bull Racing chief technical officer Adrian Newey.

Red Bull HyperCar RB17 maximum power

Newey revealed that the upcoming RB17 will be powered by a powerful and cutting-edge naturally aspirated V10 engine. This unit will force the car to reach maximum power of 1000 BHP at 15,000 rpm. The two-seat supercar will have a small electric motor that will provide it with decent power in initial and reverse gears.

Units are limited

The supercar will be produced in a limited fashion. Only 50 sets will be built, one of which will be used by Adrian Newey himself. According to the report, rare customers who own an RB17 will receive special treatment from the brand, allowing them to experience the simulator before taking delivery.

Overall weight and capacity

Reports confirm that the supercar has a maximum curb weight of 900 kilograms. With aerodynamic downforce, it will reach peak downforce at 150 km/h, with aerodynamic downforce capped at 1.7 tons. In order to make it insanely stable on the track or terrain, premium tire manufacturer Michelin was tasked with designing special tires for the RB17.

Performance similar to F1 racing cars

Newey also claimed that the RB17 would be one of the most aerodynamically efficient cars ever produced. The upcoming RB17 will inherit the style of F1 racing cars and be equipped with a variety of functional active suspensions, making it more comfortable than F1 racing cars.

In terms of speed, Newey said the RB17 will achieve similar lap times to any other F1 car. However, it won’t be built as an F1 car.
