Ramakrishna Mission president Swami Smarananda dies at 95

Ramakrishna Mission president Swami Smaranananda passed away on Tuesday evening at the age of 95 due to age-related illnesses.

RK Mission said in a statement that he became the order’s 16th president in 2017.

The statement read: “Srimat Swami Smaranananandaji Maharaj, the most revered Maharaja of Ramakrishna Mathematics and Ramakrishna Mission Chairman Raj achieved Mahasamadhi at 8:14 pm today.”

The monk was admitted to Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan on January 29 due to a urinary tract infection. He later developed respiratory failure and was put on a ventilator on March 3.
