Ram temple inauguration: Only a few hours are left for the rituals, a look at PM Modi’s Ayodhya program

The countdown to the grand ‘Pran Pratishtha’ (consecration) ceremony has begun. The holy city of Ayodhya is ready to welcome Lord Ram, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to attend the consecration ceremony of the newly constructed Ram temple.

According to the temple trust, the ceremony, which began at 12:20 pm, is expected to end by 1 pm, after which the Prime Minister will address the gathering.

“The Prime Minister will also interact with ‘laborers’ associated with the construction of the temple,” said a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which is in charge of the construction and management of the Ram temple.

10:25 am: Arrival at Ayodhya Airport

10:55 am: Arrival by helicopter at Ram Janmabhoomi complex

11:00 am – 12:00 noon: Exploration of Ram Janmabhoomi complex, possible field visit and chanting session

PM will visit Kuber Tila

Prime Minister Modi will also visit Kuber Tila, where an ancient Shiva temple has been renovated. The member said, he will perform ‘puja’ there.

The grand Ram Janmabhoomi Temple or Ram Mandir is constructed in the traditional Nagar style. Its length (east-west) is 380 feet; Width 250 feet and height 161 feet. It rests on a total of 392 pillars and has 44 doors.

Intricate depictions of Hindu gods and goddesses are displayed on the pillars and walls of the temple. The idol of Ramlala is kept in the main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor of the temple.

According to the trust, the consecration rituals for ‘Pran Pratishtha’ began from the Saryu river on January 16 and will be completed at ‘Abhijeet Muhurta’ on Monday afternoon.
