Railway Minister shares video of bullet train ballastless track: 'First in India'

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday shared a video of India’s first ballastless track system for bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad on X website Developed by train project. Ballastless track or “slab track” is becoming increasingly popular on high-speed lines in some countries. It is worth noting that this is the first time that the J-plate ballastless track system has been used in India. The innovative track system uses prefabricated track panels carefully equipped with fasteners and rails.

The slab sits on an RC track bed of approximately 300mm thickness and is constructed on-site (on-site) for the separate up and down track lines on top of the viaduct. The width of the RC track bed is 2420mm to ensure stability. National High Speed ​​Rail Co., Ltd. (NHSRCL) said.
