Queen Camilla is in major trouble after she became the focus of anti-monarchy protesters at Thursday’s Easter service.

The Queen was met by anti-monarchy campaigners as she arrived at Worcester Cathedral for a morning religious service.

The Republic, a group known for its protests against the royal family, was stationed outside the cathedral carrying huge yellow banners and flags.

Protesters chanted “Down with the crown” as the Queen presided over the annual Maundy Day ceremony in place of the King.

Smith said the group was “continuing a series of protests against the monarchy”.

Asked whether it was appropriate for Kate and King Charles to protest at royal events after they were diagnosed with cancer, Smith said the protest was against the royal institution, not family members.
