Prince William reveals tearful moment with Kate Middleton

Prince William has written the foreword to a series of guides for veterans and their loved ones, sharing a heartfelt moment between him and Kate Middleton.

The Prince of Wales also described how he and his wife, Kate, had gotten to know many families bereaved by suicide over the years and understood “the power of shared experiences.”

William’s words indicate how difficult it was for them to control their emotions after learning of their family’s suffering.

The heir to the throne expressed his and Catherine’s support for the family, telling them: “Please know you are not alone.”

The future king said that “the voices of the families of those who commit suicide must be heard.”

In a series of articles published by Suicide Bereavement UK, William writes: “There is no time limit for dealing with grief, but Catherine and I have met many bereaved families over the years and know the power of sharing the experience, even in the most difficult of times. Tragic circumstances.”

King Charles III’s eldest son, who served with the Blues and Royals and as an RAF search and rescue pilot, also described losing a loved one to suicide as a complex and long-term experience.

He said he hopes the guides will serve as an important source of guidance and help for those who are dealing with loss “during the dark days of grief.”

“In times of domestic and international crises, we look to our armed forces to provide help, support and stability,” he said.

“Members of our Armed Forces never shy away from a challenge – leveraging their skills and working together to help others. But in times of great challenge, it’s easy to hide our needs.”

The prince added: “Few of us will go through life without experiencing the loss of a loved one. Thankfully, suicide is rare in the Armed Forces, but for those who have lost a loved one to suicide, Said, this loss can be a complex and long-term process.

“Often, the stigma surrounding suicide prevents those affected from speaking out and seeking help.”
