As the royal family celebrated Easter by attending church services, Prince Harry appeared to be feeling blue.

However, the Duke of Sussex, who loves royal Easter traditions, will be a bit sad to miss out on this year’s festivities, according to royal author Tom Quinn.

The past few months have been difficult for the royal family as their most senior member faces a shocking health crisis. King Charles was diagnosed with cancer in February, while Kate Middleton announced her cancer news two weeks ago.

quinn told Mirror How would Harry feel, especially with his growing children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, who have never experienced the royal tradition.

“Traditionally, the royal family holds a ceremony at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, on Easter Sunday, followed by a brief walk and then a very traditional roast lamb lunch,” the authors explain.

“Harry has always enjoyed the tradition as he gets to meet an adoring public for a short period of time. But what really upsets Harry this year is that his children will miss out on the Easter egg hunt that follows. “

Dating back to Queen Victoria, Quinn shared that Archie and Lilibet missed the opportunity to bond with their cousins, the Welsh children.

Prince Harry’s estranged brother Prince William lives with Kate, 10-year-old George, 8-year-old Charlotte and 5-year-old Louis.

Quinn noted that “family discord will hinder” the children’s connection, and Harry “will feel this keenly.”

However, at this year’s Easter service, the Welsh family did not attend as they were dealing with Kate’s health issues. Meanwhile, King Charles made his first official public appearance with Queen Camilla since news of his cancer.

Other royals in attendance included: Prince Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Edward and Sophie and their two children.
