Prince Harry has been living in constant fear of being betrayed by his company during a visit to the UK.
King Charles was diagnosed with cancer last month and Prince Harry is expected to visit him for a brief formal meeting.
The Duke of Sussex was scathing about his estranged family in his explosive memoir, Backup, published last January.
He claimed that his father’s second wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, orchestrated the spread of information to the media to enhance her status in the royal family.
Harry claimed that Charles and Camilla and their “opinion doctors” leaked the story of the prince’s 2002 visit to a drug rehab center and “threw him under the bus”.
His accusations of estrangement from his family have reportedly left the father-of-two nervous about his relationship with the royal family, with Harry “paranoid” the royal family would fight back, according to royal author Tom Quinn.
“Because Harry is now so removed from the day-to-day life of the rest of the royal family, he is in a perpetual state of paranoia, fearing that ‘the company’ will betray him or do something to make him look bad without him knowing or planning it,” Tom told the Mirror.
Harry continued to make a series of accusations against his family in interviews to promote his memoirs, accusing the royal family of having ties to the British media involving “briefings, leaks and frame-ups.”
In an interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby, the prince accused his estranged family of “sleeping with the devil” and claimed Camilla allegedly leaked a conversation she had with William to the media.
Harry claimed his brother was “furious” about Charles, Camilla and her public opinion doctors leaking rumors about his private life, writing: “Dad and Camilla’s people have made up one or more stories about him, Kate , the children’s story, he didn’t want to endure it anymore. He said, give Daddy and Camilla an inch and they’ll go a mile.”
