President Murmu Drupadi greets people on Odisha Day

President Drupadi Murmu on Monday extended greetings on Odisha Day and said the perseverance of the people of the state has contributed immensely to the development of Odisha and the country.

Odisha Day or ‘Utkala Dibasa’ marks the day in 1936 when Odisha became an independent state. The state was created with the partition of Bihar and Orissa. In 2011, Odisha was renamed Odisha.

“Warm greetings to people on Odisha Day! Odisha is known for its rich natural wealth and rich cultural heritage. The people of the state are resilient and have contributed to the development of Odisha and the country huge contribution.

“Odisha has produced many icons over the centuries, including several founders of modern India. May Lord Jagannath bless the state and its people with greater success and prosperity!” She on X said one post.
