Post office boss Nick Reid found ‘not guilty’ after investigation into bullying claims

The Post Office chief executive has been “cleared of all allegations of misconduct” following an investigation into bullying claims.

The organization said Nick Reid will continue to lead the organization following an independent review.

Earlier this year, former Post Office chairman Henry Staunton told a House of Commons select committee that allegations against him were made. The company’s former human resources director authored an 80-page document under its “Speak Up” policy.

Mr Staunton was informed of his dismissal in January, According to Sky Newsmade multiple accusations about the contents of the report, including Mr Reid’s apparent threat to resign over his pay package and allegations of bullying.

The Post Office said in a statement that an independent lawyer had been investigating “whistleblower” complaints “regarding a variety of allegations, including multiple allegations of misconduct against our chief executive Nick Reid”.

The statement added: “Following multiple interviews with attorneys and document examinations, Nick has been exonerated of all allegations of misconduct and has the full and united support of the Board of Directors to continue leading the business.

“These recommendations are helpful and we will ensure they are addressed appropriately and promptly in the future. We will not be commenting further on this matter.”
