Police have launched an investigation into Labor deputy leader Angela Rayner.

Ms Rayner has been in the spotlight in recent weeks for selling a former council house she previously owned in Stockport.

She has been accused of evading capital gains tax, which she denies.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We are investigating whether any offenses have been committed. This follows a reassessment of the information provided to us by Mr Daley.”

James Daly is the Conservative MP for Burynorth.
