Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow on the busy Guwahati-Shillong road on Tuesday and was greeted by huge crowds.

He arrived in Assam that evening for a two-day visit. He will address an election rally in Nalbari on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister’s two-kilometre roadshow started near the state Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan and ended near the state secretariat in Dispur.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy passed through the stretch, people were trapped behind barricades set up along the road, raising slogans in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party and waving party flags.

The Prime Minister, with the Assamese “Gamosa” hanging around his neck, stood on the footrest of his vehicle and waved to the crowd, which consisted of a large number of men and women.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also seen waving to the crowd from another vehicle, which was part of the Prime Minister’s motorcade.

Strict security measures were implemented for the Prime Minister’s visit, with strict traffic controls in place and “no-fly zones” set up along the route during the visit.

Earlier in the evening, Prime Minister Modi arrived at the Lokpriya Gopinath International Airport in Guwahati and was greeted by Himanta Biswa Sarma and Bharatiya Janata Party chief Babesh Kalita meet.

After staying overnight in Guwahati, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Nalbari on Wednesday to address an election rally in support of NDA candidate Phani Bhushan Chaudhry from Asomgana Parishad. Bhushan Choudhury).

Nalbari parliamentary constituency falls under the Barpeta parliamentary constituency, which will go to polls in the third phase on May 7.
