Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed Latif Khosa defeated UN-sanctioned terrorist Muhammad Khosa in Lahore’s NA 122 seat in Thursday’s general election polls, Pakistani media reported. Talha Saeed, son of Muhammad Hafiz Saeed.

Latif Khosa got 117,109 votes while Talha Saeed got only 2024 votes. According to local media reports, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique received 77,907 votes.

It is worth noting that the UN-sanctioned terrorist Mohammad Hafiz Saeed is the founder of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). He is the mastermind of the deadly 26/11 attacks in Mumbai and is wanted in several cases in India.

Hafiz Saeed’s political entity, Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML), has fielded candidates for every constituency in Pakistan’s national and provincial parliaments in the February 8 general election.

According to Dawn newspaper, counting of votes is underway and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won 12 seats. Independent candidates backed by jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won nine seats, the daily said, citing provisional results from the Pakistan Election Commission.

Khan was disqualified from running due to a criminal conviction and his supporters ran as independent candidates. Meanwhile, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won 11 seats, Dawn reported.

Local media in Pakistan began reporting on the results of the national and provincial parliamentary polls today. The polls started at 8 a.m. on February 8 and lasted until 5 p.m. that day.

Pakistan’s interior ministry said today that election results scheduled to be announced on Friday morning were postponed due to “lack of connectivity”, stressing that this was as a result of precautionary measures taken to ensure foolproof security.

According to “Geo News” citing the results of the Election Commission of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif won the NA-130 constituency with 171,024 votes.

According to all polling stations, former Prime Minister and Nawaz Sharif’s brother Shehbaz Sharif won the NA-123 seat with 63,953 votes, while Afzal A. Zim received 48,486 votes.

Besides, Sherbaz Sharif won the Lahore PP-158 seat with 38,642 votes, while independent candidate Yusuf Ali was the runner-up with 23,847 votes. His son Muhammad Hamza Shehbaz Sharif won the NA-118 seat in Lahore with 105,960 votes, ARY News reported.

PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz won the Lahore PP-189 seat with 23,598 votes, ARY News reported. According to unofficial results received at all polling stations, Hamza Shehbaz defeated independent candidate Aliya Hamza backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), ARY News reported , the latter received 100,803 votes.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali claimed that PTI is leading in 150 seats and will form governments across Pakistan.
