A man working as a delivery boy in Noida was allegedly stripped of his shirt and assaulted by a group of people he knew, officials said on Thursday. Officials gave this information on Thursday.
Purported videos of the episode surfaced on social media on Wednesday, with police saying the incident took place on February 9 and an FIR has been registered in the matter.
Two short video clips of the incident allegedly show a group of people attacking and abusing Abhay Pratap, who hails from Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh and works as a delivery executive at an under-construction building here. Let’s work.
The victim and the people who attacked him are all around 20 years old.
“Both the accused and the victim know each other. There was a fight between them on February 9 due to some dispute. Based on the complaint of the plaintiff, a case was registered at Sector-113 police station on February 9.” A police spokesperson said.
Later the same day, the victim was sent for medical examination, the officer said.
Police said investigation into the matter has been initiated and further necessary legal action is underway.
