Ferozepur (Punjab):
BSF officials said the Border Security Force in Punjab intercepted the movement of a drone during the night on Wednesday.
The troops on high alert immediately swung into action and monitored drone movements along the border in Firozpur district.
Following standard operating procedures, BSF troops cordoned off the possible dropping zone and conducted an extensive search. At around 09:37, they recovered a small drone in a field in Changa Rai Hithar village of Firozpur district.
“Potential dropping zone was cordoned off and extensive search was conducted. At about 09:37 hrs, BSF troops successfully recovered 01 small drone along with 01 packet of suspected heroin in a field at village – Changa Rai Hithar (Chimbewala) .of District Ferozepur,” BSF said in a post on Twitter.
Upon inspection, the recovered drone was identified as a Chinese-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic model quadcopter, along with packets of suspected heroin weighing 505 grams wrapped in yellow tape.
