Nintendo’s first direct reveal of 2024 takes place this week

Nintendo has announced this year’s first Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, scheduled to take place on February 21 at 6am PT (7:30pm IST). The presentation will last about 25 minutes and focus on games coming to Nintendo Switch in the first half of 2024. The event can be viewed on-demand on Nintendo’s YouTube channel. There are no further details yet on the games that will be showcased at the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, but people can expect some surprises, especially since Microsoft confirmed last week that four Xbox-exclusive games will be releasing on PS5 and Switch.

Nintendo confirmed a 2024 debut in a post on the X. While the company didn’t provide further details about the content of the Nintendo Direct, it said the showcase will showcase Nintendo Switch games releasing in the first half of 2024, as well as development partners.

It was reported a few days ago that Nintendo told game publishers that its Nintendo Switch successor would be delayed until the early months of 2025. Nintendo reportedly has a relatively small lineup of games coming to Switch this year; analysts believe the company is reserving its biggest first-party games for the Switch successor.
