Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty have reportedly been ordered to pay security guards a six-figure sum.
according to TMZthe couple were sued by security guard Thomas Weidenmüller, accusing them of an assault backstage.
On Friday, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge ruled against the security guard in the amount of $503,318.
The order was issued after Thomas submitted X-ray records and doctor’s notes to the court
Thomas revealed in the lawsuit that he worked as a security guard at Nicki’s concert in Germany on March 22, 2019.
During the performance, a fan broke through the security barrier and jumped onto the stage, allegedly angering the singer.
Thomas claimed that Nikki started scolding a female security guard after the concert, so he tried to intervene. Later, the rapper called him to a private room backstage, where her husband, Kenneth, attacked him.
“While Nikki was yelling obscenities at me, Kenneth re-stepped out of my sight and struck me in the face without warning, leaving me stunned and disoriented,” the security guard claimed.
“Due to the sudden nature of the attack, I’m not sure if Petty struck me with his fists or with a weapon,” Thomas said.
He added that his “jaw was broken during the incident” and that he had to “undergo multiple surgeries for the injuries.”
“I now have five plates in my jaw, and my jaw has not been completely reconstructed. The doctor still has to insert the implant into my jaw as part of the reconstruction process,” Thomas explained.
Meanwhile, Nikki and her husband failed to respond to the lawsuit, leading the court to grant Thomas a “default judgment.”
