Nick Jonas has postponed concerts due to illness

Nick Jonas has postponed a Jonas Brothers concert in Mexico until next summer.

“Hi guys. I’m suffering from a terrible strain of influenza-A, and I’m not able to sing at the moment,” Nick, 31, wrote in a video shared via Instagram on Friday, May 3. “Suffering from influenza.

“We always want to be able to give you guys the best show and I’m not able to do that for these shows in Mexico at this time.”

In the video, Nick revealed that on Tuesday, April 30, the night he performed in Cancun with his brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas, he lost his voice.

Nick was in pain, but all three went ahead and performed in the show.

“In the last two and a half days, it has become progressively worse. I was basically in bed all day yesterday and today with a fever, body aches, sore throat and a bad cough,” he explained. “I saw a doctor and basically this morning it was decided that there was no improvement. I won’t be able to go on stage tonight and do this show.”

The band’s postponed shows were scheduled to take place in Mexico City on Friday and Saturday, May 4. The band also had two final shows in Monterrey on Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7.

The singers revealed that they have now decided to reschedule the remaining concerts of August 21 and 22 in Mexico City and August 24 and 25 in Monterrey.

“I just need to get over this thing and beat it. I’m so sorry,” Nick shared. “I hate to disappoint you guys. You do so much to support us. “Many of you have traveled to be on that show and I just want to say that I am heartbroken by this.”

Nick further praised fans for their “understanding” and said he planned to “get back and healthy as soon as possible.”
