Prosecutors described Matson as “twisted and brutal” and said he cut his wife into at least 224 pieces “far beyond what was necessary to move the body.”

The court heard Ms Bramley’s remains were discovered by a member of the public who initially believed they belonged to an animal.

Matson told Lincolnshire Police his wife left the home with members of the local mental health crisis team, but officers noticed a “strong smell of bleach” and found blood-stained sheets, along with a handful of towels. saw.

An examination of Mattson’s phone after he was charged with Ms Bramley’s murder revealed he had Googled searches for “how to dispose of a body”, “what good would I gain if my wife died” and “will God forgive Murder?”

After her death, the killer sent messages to Ms Bramley’s friends through her Facebook profile, tricking them into thinking she was still alive and sending himself money from her bank account.

CCTV footage shows Matson moving a large amount of luggage from his 14th-floor apartment in the early hours of March 25 last year.

“It is clear that a void has been left in the lives of Holly’s friends that will never be filled.”

Joshua Hancock, 28, a school friend who helped the killer move body parts, admitted obstructing the coroner’s inquest, as well as unrelated offenses including attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and drug offences.

Hancock’s defense lawyer told the court he “regrettably regrets his involvement”, adding: “Mr Hancock had no idea what the job entailed. He was engaging in an activity in which he was not involved. “

Hancock was jailed for a total of three years and three months.
