The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted a series of raids in Tamil Nadu (Tennessee) to investigate an LTTE-related arms seizure case.

NIA teams conducted raids at the residences of suspects in RC-33/2022/NIA/DLI (Omarur PS weapons case) in Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Sivaganga and Tenkasi.

The places searched also included those of NTK staff and YouTuber Saatai ​​Duraimurugan, among others.

The agency conducted extensive searches and seized a laptop, 7 mobile phones, 8 SIM/memory cards and 4 pen drives, along with items related to the LTTE terror group and its self-proclaimed supreme leader Prabhakar Incriminating documents and books related to Lan.

The TN police initially registered the case after arresting two men, identified as Naveen Chakravorty and Sanjay Prakash, during a vehicle check in Puliyampatti subdivision of Salem on May 19, 2022.

They were arrested after being found in possession of two pistols, ammunition, gunpowder, etc.

Investigations revealed that the two were inspired by the banned terror group the LTTE. They wanted to create an organization similar to the LTTE and launch an armed struggle in Tamil Nadu. Later, another accused, Kabilal from Kabilan, was also arrested in connection with the case.

The case was taken over by the NIA on July 25, 2022, and the investigation is still continuing.
