It is reported that this model will be first sold in China, where it will be known as Tiguan L Pro. It will debut in India around next year.

German carmaker Volkswagen has expanded its lineup a bit, introducing the all-new Tayron to the global market. The newly revealed SUV, which has been treated with cutting-edge technology, has taken over the Tiguan AllSpace, and from now on it will sit at its position only.

It is reported that this model will be first sold in China, where it will be known as Tiguan L Pro. Later, the company will start broadcasting in different parts of the world. It is likely to arrive in India around next year. However, the brand has not confirmed the actual duration yet.

What is special in Volkswagen Tayron?

The all-new Teron shares many similarities with the latest generation Tiguan, including design elements. It comes with a massive bonnet, a fully LED headlight setup, daytime running lights (DRLs) and a chrome finished Volkswagen logo on the front grille. The front lower profile also gets a chrome treatment, where two strips at both ends make it look more elegant and classy. It also gets body color door handles, roof rails and automatic ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.

To make it bold and better on the outside, it gets chunky yet stylish alloy wheels with a little dose of chrome. Talking about the overall size, the Teron measures 1,859 mm wide, 4,735 mm long and 1,682 mm high, making it larger than the latest 5-seater Tiguan. It also has a 111 mm longer wheelbase, which is better than the Tiguan.

Engines and Platforms

The new Teron is developed on the company’s new MQB EVO platform, which makes it even better in terms of build quality. This is the same platform that is used for the latest-generation Tiguan and the new Skoda Kodiaq. As far as powertrains are concerned, it is offered in both a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel unit. All power sources will have a 48V mild-hybrid setup, making it an ideal choice for long and short trips.
