Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh took a dig at industrialist Naveen Jindal, saying the latter needs a “giant washing machine”. The former two-term Kurukshetra MP joined the BJP after resigning from the Congress party.

“When you need a giant washing machine, this has to happen. I have made zero contribution to the party in the last ten years and to say I am resigning is a big joke,” Jairam Ramesh ( Jairam Ramesh said in a post on. X’.

Mr. Jindal is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with coal block allocation irregularities in Jharkhand. The Enforcement Directorate is investigating allegations of money laundering related to the allocation of coal blocks.

The Bharatiya Janata Party announced its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, electing Jindal from Haryana’s Kurukshetra constituency, where it had served as leader between 2004 and 2014 representative of this parliamentary seat.

Mr. Jindal announced his resignation from the Congress party in a post on “X” on Sunday evening. He expressed his gratitude to the party and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Jindal said in the post: “I represented the Congress party in Parliament for ten years as the Kurukshetra MP. I am grateful to the Congress leadership and the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Today, I resign Positions of major members of the Congress Party.” on the “X”.

Industrialist Naveen Jindal represented Kurukshetra constituency in Lok Sabha for two terms. However, he lost the 2014 national elections to the BJP’s Raj Kumar Saini and was not nominated by the Congress party in 2019.
