'National sin': Yogi Adityanath vows to take strict action against UP exam paper leak

A day after the state government canceled the police recruitment exam following the paper leak, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said the matter will be investigated for foul play and those responsible will be taught an appropriate lesson.

Candidates went into celebration on Saturday after getting information about the official cancellation of exams by the government.

Speaking at an event organized at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow to distribute appointment letters to candidates selected for about 1,800 vacant posts in various government departments, Mr Adityanath said the Act is playing with the future of the youth of the state.

Terming the paper leak as a ‘national sin’, CM Adityanath said, “We have always believed that if the recruitment process is not transparent, then it is playing with the future of talented youth, forcing them to migrate.” Youth is a national sin. Therefore, we adopted a policy of zero-tolerance against such elements from day one and will deal with such elements in the strictest and harshest manner whenever such a situation arises,” CM Yogi said.

Describing those involved in the leak as ‘fraudulent individuals’, he said they were using technology to carry out their nefarious designs and reiterated the government’s resolve to foil all such attempts.

Congratulating the youth selected in various departments for joining the services of the state, the Chief Minister said that the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also the mission of the double engine government. “The government is working with full commitment to ensure that every youth gets his rights in a fair and transparent manner. As a result, in the last 7 years, more than 6 lakh youth have been provided jobs in government departments of the state in a transparent manner,” the CM said.

He also mentioned the investment proposals worth Rs 40 lakh crore received during the UP Global Investors Summit 2023 and the launch of projects worth Rs 10,24,000 crore during the ground breaking ceremony 2024, CM Yogi said launched during GBC@4.0 Upon completion of the project, 34 lakh youth will get employment.

He said, “Earlier these youth used to go to Maharashtra, Delhi, Bengaluru, Tamil Nadu in search of jobs and employment, but today they do not need to go anywhere because they are getting jobs in their own district and state.”

He called upon the newly selected candidates to fulfill their responsibilities honestly and focus on the development of the state and the country while contributing to realize the vision of a developed India. He also urged the recruits to display sensitivity towards the poor and the underprivileged.

The CM said, “Ensure that you reach your office on time and complete the tasks on priority basis. Do not leave any file pending. Often delays lead to pile up of work, which derails the work.” And disciplinary action is taken against those responsible.”

“You have reached this stage with the love and blessings of your parents, teachers, friends and well-wishers. But, this should not be considered a destination. It is time for you to try your best.
