Nagpur teen dies by suicide after being scolded by father for eating junk food: police

A 19-year-old BBA student committed suicide at her home in Nagpur, Maharashtra after her father scolded her for eating junk food, police said today.

They said the woman, named Bhumika Vinod Dhanwani, lived in the Sindhi Colony area of ​​the city.

An official from Pratap Nagar police station said, “Bhumika was a student of BBA and suffered from thyroid disease. Her father scolded her for eating junk food, which upset her and she hanged herself in the kitchen with a long cloth.”

“Her family members found her hanging this morning following which she was taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital where she was declared dead,” he said, adding that a case of accidental death has been registered.
