Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Matheesha Pathirana bowled a gravity-defying catch past Delhi Capitals (DC) batsman David in IPL 2024 on Sunday ·David Warner sent off. Warner got reverse coverage after Mustafizur Rahman bowled a slower delivery. While Warner appeared to have good time with the ball, a lack of speed on the pass allowed Patialana to leap and grab the ball with one hand. Warner had a look of disbelief on his face while CSK icon MS Dhoni praised Pathirana’s efforts.

Dhoni was seen applauding Patialana and his reaction went viral on social media.

Back into the match, DC were 91 for 1 in just 9 overs, with Warner completing his half-century off 32 balls.

However, he was dropped in the next over thanks to a brilliant catch from Patialana.

Before this, DC captain Rishabh Pant won the coin toss and chose to bat against CSK.

While CSK decided to go with the same starting XI, DC made two changes, bringing in Ishant Sharma and Prithvi Shaw in place of Kuldeep Yadav and Ricky Bhui.

“Kuldeep has a little problem,” Pant said during the toss.

Defending champions CSK have won both their matches in this IPL, while DC have suffered defeats in both matches.
