Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon MS Dhoni batted for the first time in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2024 at Visakhapatnam Out at midfield. Dhoni did not get a chance to bat in CSK’s first two games and he was demoted down the order. However, the player struck out against DC when CSK fell six runs behind. Dhoni walked out to bat amidst the roar of the Vizag crowd and ended up hitting 37 off 16 balls with four fours and three sixes in the innings.

Dhoni hit Mukesh Kumar for a boundary on the first ball he faced and never looked back. Although CSK lost the match by 20 runs, Dhoni ensured that the crowd was perfectly entertained with his fireworks.

In IPL 2024 against Delhi Capitals, Dhoni became the first player to reach 300 dismissals in the T20 format.

Dhoni, often hailed as one of the best wicketkeepers of the modern era, once again showed his prowess behind the stumps by taking a clinical catch.

Ravindra Jadeja forced out Prithvi Shaw and Dhoni made no mistake behind the stumps as he took the ball to complete his 300th T20 Out.

The closest wicketkeeper to Dhoni is former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal, who has 274 dismissals in T20 cricket.

The veteran keeper of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who has not played a role behind the stumps this season, ranks third with 274 T20 dismissals.

South Africa’s Quinton de Kock and England’s Jos Buttler rank fourth and fifth with 270 and 209 dismissals respectively.
