Modi govt to tackle systemic inequalities plaguing society: FM

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is addressing systemic inequalities plaguing society. While presenting the mid-term budget 2024-25, Sitharaman said the economic management of the past decade has complemented people-centred inclusive development. She said all forms of infrastructure development were completed in record time.

She noted that tax reform broadened the tax base. She added that female enrollment in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) courses is 43%, the highest in the world.
