Mizoram: Rs 30 crore worth of crystal meth seized at India-Myanmar border, one arrested

A man was arrested with methamphetamine tablets worth Rs 30 crore from a village on the India-Myanmar border in Mizoram state’s Champai district, officials said on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the Assam Rifles and state police raided Johathar village on the international border on Tuesday and seized the items, they said.

One person was also arrested in connection with the incident, they added. Security forces in a separate operation on Monday seized 34.9 grams of heroin worth Rs 1.74 million from Aizawl’s Zemabak area and arrested one person.
