Missing 35-year-old man found dead in Delhi, three arrested: police

New Delhi:

A 35-year-old man who went missing mysteriously last week was found dead in Balji Nagar, police said.

According to police, the man, Madhav Singh, was allegedly killed by a couple with whom the deceased was having an extramarital affair.

Police said they had arrested the woman and her two accomplices and began further investigation into the matter.

Singh is a resident of Gulshan Chowk in Anand Parbat district and works as a worker in a factory.

Central Deputy Commissioner of Police M Harsha Vardhan said that on March 27, a relative of Singh lodged a complaint about Singh’s disappearance with the Anand Parbat police station.

Vardhan said: “During investigation and analysis of Singh’s phone calls, it was discovered that he was in touch with a woman named Jyoti, who called Singh to her house in Balji Nagar Punjab Basti. s home.”

The official said further investigation strongly suspects Jyoti and her husband were involved in Singh’s disappearance.

When police arrived at Jyoti’s home, they found the house locked and items scattered on the floor. Singh’s body was found buried in a local sinkhole.

Jyoti and her husband Lekhpal were arrested on Sunday.

During interrogation, the two admitted that Singh had an illicit relationship with Jyoti, the DCP said.

They revealed the involvement of Surjit, a resident of Baljit Nagar, who was also arrested in connection with the case. The police officer said they were with Jyoti.

The accused couple told police that they called Singh to their home on March 25.

With Surjit’s help, they allegedly beat up Singh and disposed of the body, police said.

Surjit has previously been involved in criminal cases of theft and assault.
