Former Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Israel would “extract a price from Iran in a way and at a time that suits us.”

Gantz’s statement came as Benjamin Netanyahu convened a war cabinet meeting to discuss Israel’s response to the Iranian attack.

Earlier, Rishi Sunak confirmed that RAF jets had shot down “multiple” Iranian drones flying to Israel overnight and that extra RAF pilots had been sent to the Middle East.

Joe Biden told Netanyahu that the U.S. would not participate in offensive operations against Iran after Iran launched an unprecedented attack, a senior U.S. official told Netanyahu CNN.

President Biden reportedly made the comments during a phone call between the two leaders after Tehran launched a retaliatory attack.

According to the Israeli military, the attack on Israel involved some 170 drones and more than 120 ballistic missiles, “99 percent” of which were intercepted by Israeli air defense systems and its partners.
