mini The company has ceased production of the Clubman after a stellar 17-year run, paving the way for the electric Aceman to gain traction as its successor.

Initially launched globally in 2007, the Clubman captured hearts with its estate-style body design and vertically split tailgate. Later, it entered India in 2016.

Manufactured at Mini’s Oxford factory in Cowley, the Clubman played a key role in the revival of Mini’s entire range.

Now, the Clubman gracefully makes room for the Aceman crossover and the new Cooper petrol version (available in three-door, five-door and convertible form), due to be produced until 2030. After a huge investment of 600 GBP, Autocar reports that the Oxford plant has received an investment of 10 Lakhs (approximately 6,000 Crores) from parent company BMW and the UK Government and will be dedicated to the production of electric vehicles.

The Mini Estate was originally launched in 1960 as the Traveler, later updated to the Clubman and finally renamed the 1000HL. The Mini Estate has been dormant since 1970. The 2007 revival marked a new chapter, with a refreshed design and modern features.

The second-generation Clubman was revamped for 2015, adopting Mini’s signature round daytime running lights while opting for a more traditional rear door setup. Notably, it also comes in a high-performance John Cooper Works variant, boasting an impressive 306 bhp.

As of 2024, Mini’s product lineup in India includes the Countryman SUV, Cooper SE EV and the standard Cooper with a petrol engine.
