Mercedes-Benz GLA, GLE Coupe facelift to launch in India on January 31, check details

Mercedes-Benz is preparing to introduce the updated incarnation of the technology-packed GLA and GLE Coupe in India. The company has already confirmed this news, where it says that the model based on the second generation is in its final stages, and will be launched on January 31.

The SUV is expected to come with some noticeable cosmetic changes inside and out. Customers will get an updated LED headlights setup, uplifted front fascia, revised wheel arches and a redesigned bumper, which will be complemented by an LED taillight unit at the rear.

Additionally, the four-wheeler will have a mostly old-school charm at the front, with the company’s signature style grille along with a large logo.

On the side, it may remain unchanged, including body-colour door handles with automatic ORVMS with integrated indicators. On the inside, the SUV will get Mercedes’ latest MBUX touchscreen infotainment system, which will support all wireless car connection technologies including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

It will carry some premium and advanced features like multi-functional steering wheel, multiple airbags, parking sensors with dynamic guidelines, wireless charging, cabin ambient lighting, electric tailgate and what not.

Power and Engine

Under the hood, the brand will likely offer the GLA facelift in two engine options – a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel unit. The powerhouses will generate maximum outputs of 160 bhp and 187 bhp respectively.

As far as pricing is concerned, the GLA can hit Indian roads for Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the company has not yet shared official details about it.
