Neemuch, Nov 4 (IANS) Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh government has launched Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana (Price Difference Scheme), an important component of the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-ASHA) to secure the income of farmers by bridging the gap between market prices and Minimum Support Price (MSP).
This “Price Difference Scheme” ensures that if crops are sold below the MSP, the difference is deposited directly into the accounts of farmers, thereby promoting prosperity in the agriculture sector.
In this scheme launched specifically for soybean growers, registration closed on October 17, 2025 and procurement started in the mandis on October 24.
In Neemuch district, Collector Himanshu Chandra has overseen comprehensive facilities including drinking water, shady areas, seating areas, accurate weighing and transparent auctions in Neemuch, Javad and Manasa markets.
Health desks and nodal officers have been deployed to maintain smooth operations, resulting in 15,956 farmers registering locally.
Despite the bad weather, enthusiasm remains intact.
In Neemuch mandi, 60 farmers have sold 1,050 quintals of soybean, while in Manasa mandi, 107 farmers have sold 1,182 quintals of soybean.
Javad Bazaar is also similarly active under the scheme.
Farmers have appreciated the initiative of giving fair price difference.
Dal Singh of Rampuriya village said, “I registered for the Bhavantar scheme and brought soybean today. Due to the low market rate, I have made a profit of around Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 from the price difference. The scheme is excellent; I have got a fair price for my 25-30 quintals.”
Bherulal Ahir of Kanavati village said, “The price of my produce in Neemuch mandi was Rs 3,698 per quintal, but under Bhavantar, with the government rate at Rs 5,328, I have made a profit of Rs 1,700-1,800. We are grateful to the chief minister for this support amid low mandi prices.”
“The chief minister announced a difference of Rs 5,328 per quintal between model rates and MSP. More than 15,500 farmers have registered, and procurement has progressed rapidly since October 24, the difference will be deposited directly,” said Sanjeev Sahu, Neemuch agricultural produce market administrator.
Bhavantar Yojana is strengthening economic stability for the farmers of Madhya Pradesh, making the state a leader in “Krishi Samman” – Agriculture Honors.
As the procurement is gaining momentum, it underlines the state government’s commitment to protect producers from market volatility and enhance rural livelihoods.
