Rajasthan Royals (RR) mocked pacer Avesh Khan’s knock during the IPL 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday. Avish did not face a single ball and remained unbeaten for zero runs, with Jos Buttler single-handedly winning the RR game. Rajasthan looked to be in trouble as they chased a 224-run victory at 121-6 in the 13th over at Eden Gardens. However, Buttler scored an unbeaten 107 off just 60 balls to help RR achieve the target in the last ball. In the unbeaten ninth wicket stand, he scored with Avish, who was just a spectator at the other end.
While the cricketing fraternity was busy praising Buttler for his match-winning knock, RR decided to have some fun with Avish and tagged him the ‘finisher’.

Avish’s former team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) also joined RR’s bandwagon, reminding fans of his scoreless cameo for the team in last year’s IPL 2024 against RCB.

Meanwhile, RR defeated KKR on Tuesday to complete the biggest joint chase in IPL history.
The Sanju Samson-led side emulated their record in IPL 2020 when they posted 224 runs against Kings XI Punjab (then Kings XI Punjab) in Sharjah.
Buttler missed the last game due to injury and only came on as a substitute against KKR.
However, the England white-ball captain was unfazed as he notched his second century of the season with 55 goals.
“Keep believing, that was the real key today. I struggled a bit with the rhythm. Sometimes you get frustrated or question yourself. I told myself ‘It’s okay, keep going and you’ll get your rhythm back and try to stay calm’. Throughout the IPL You’ve seen a lot of crazy things happen in the game, like (MS) Dhoni and (Virat) Kohli, they stayed till the end and kept the faith and I tried to do the same,” Buttler said after the game.
Buttler now ranks second in the all-time IPL centurion rankings, with RCB icon Virat Kohli (8) just a ton ahead of him.
