Lord Ram’s rule a source of inspiration for constitution makers: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said Lord Ram’s rule was a source of inspiration for the Constitution makers, adding that pictures of him, Sita and Lakshmana adorn the pages of the Constitution.

In the first Mann Ki Baat broadcast this year, Modi said the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya brought people across the country together, showing the collective strength of the country. He said, “And that is why on January 22 in Ayodhya, I had talked about ‘Dev se Desh’ and ‘Ram se Rashtra’.”

“Everyone has the same feelings, everyone has the same devotion. Ram is in everyone’s words, Ram is in everyone’s heart,” Modi said.

He said that during this period, many people sang Ram bhajans and dedicated them to Lord Ram, while on the evening of January 22, the entire country lit ‘Ram Jyoti’ and celebrated Diwali.

The Prime Minister said, “During this period, the collective strength of the country was visible, which is also the basis of our resolve for a developed India.” He said that the collective strength will take the country to new heights of progress.

In his broadcast, he urged young voters to register themselves so that they can exercise their franchise and lauded the increasing participation of people in voting at a time when many countries in the world are witnessing a declining trend. About 45 per cent of votes were cast in the first national election in 1951-52 and this percentage is increasing while the number of voters has grown to 96 crore, three times the US population, he said.

In the monthly broadcast, Modi said the lack of a common language for the terminology of diseases, treatments and medicines in alternative medicines like Ayurveda, Siddha or Unani was a long-standing problem, and said a solution had now been found. Is. He said, “I am happy to inform that the Ministry of AYUSH, with the help of the World Health Organization, has classified data and terminology related to Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani medicine. “Through the efforts of both, the terminology related to disease and treatment in Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha medicine has been codified.” He said that one advantage of this would be that if the patient goes to another doctor with his prescription, the doctor will get complete information.

“That slip will help someone know about their disease, treatment, what medicines they are taking, how long they have been on treatment, what things they are allergic to,” he said. Referring to the recent Padma awards, Modi said many of the honorees were people who worked at the grassroots level and away from the limelight to bring about major changes in society.

“I am very happy that the system of Padma awards has completely changed in the last decade. Now it has become the people’s Padma,” he said. He said that the contribution of each of the Padma awardees is an inspiration to the countrymen and there were many of them who brought glory to the country in the world of classical dance, classical music, folk dance, theater and bhajan.
