Hyderabad:

The Election Commission has suspended 106 government employees of Telangana Siddipet district for allegedly violating the code of conduct by attending a BRS meeting.

Official sources on Tuesday said that a large number of government employees attended the meeting held at the multi-purpose hall on the evening of April 7.

Following a complaint from the BJP, a flying team of election officials visited the meeting venue. Many employees fled the scene after seeing the flying team.

Their identities were later confirmed through perusal of CCTV footage.

Sources added that district election officer, district collector M Manu Choudary, issued an order suspending 106 employees on Monday evening.
