‘Legal and deserved’: Hamas’ first reaction to Iran’s attack on Israel

Palestinian group Hamas said on Wednesday that Iran’s weekend attacks on Israel were a “legitimate and deserved” response to the attack on the Islamic Republic’s consulate in Syria.

In its first response to the Iranian airstrike, Hamas said it was a “legitimate and due response to the Zionist entity… targeting the Iranian consulate building in Damascus on April 1.”

Hamas added in a statement: “The response of the Islamic Republic of Iran confirms that the days when the Zionist entity (Israel) can do whatever it wants without responsibility or punishment are over.”
