Rishi Sunak has defended his response to William Wragg, who admitted he shared a colleague’s personal number with a fraud suspect.

Appearing on London Broadcasting Corporation (LBC) on Wednesday morning (April 10), the Prime Minister was questioned by a caller about whether he had shown a “complete lack of leadership and failure” in the Westminster honey trap scandal .

Sunak said: “Two different police forces are currently investigating the incident.”

He then claimed there was “something broader going on” and that “there are a lot of bad people around the world trying to cause damage to our democratic process”.
