An alleged incident of China’s illegal occupation of the Ladakh region surfaced on Tuesday when Chushul city councilor Konjok Stanzin alleged that the People’s Liberation Army was preventing Ladakhi nomads from grazing in Indian territory.

Stanzin, the Chushul municipality councilor in the Leh district, shared a video purportedly showing Chinese soldiers riding in People’s Liberation Army armored vehicles fighting nomads, who can be heard arguing in Tibetan that they have been grazing livestock at that location for a long time.

Stanzin wrote on the microblogging site Grazing on the territory. Due to different opinions, this never seems to be a never-ending process. But I salute our nomads who always defend our lands and become the second guardian force of the country.”

“There is no doubt that our military has always worked with civilians to solve the PLA’s grazing problems, and it is because of their support that our nomads can bravely face the PLA,” the Chusur MP added.

As of the filing of this report, the government has not issued a formal response. News18.com was unable to independently verify the authenticity of the video. It is unclear when and where the incident allegedly occurred
