King Charles starts Easter service with generous gesture

King Charles began his Easter service with a passionate offer of forgiveness to a journalist he described as “bloody”.

Charles, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, attended the Christian holiday celebrations accompanied by his wife, Queen Camilla, and other members of the royal family.

In the momentous incident, Charles reportedly reconciled with a BBC reporter, ending a feud that began 19 years ago when the “horrible man” broke out.

Guests at Mr Whichell’s retirement party at the broadcaster were stunned when King Charles delivered a pre-recorded message joking about the couple’s “highs and lows” during the journalist’s 25 years covering the royal family.

One attendee, who asked not to be named, told the Daily Mail: “It really came as a surprise to everyone, including Nicholas. I think it’s fair to say the king’s message was generous and warm-hearted.”

Mr Witchell, who announced his retirement last October after nearly 50 years at the BBC, declined to reveal the content of the King’s message but said: “Yes, there were several, one of which was certainly surprising”.

His confusion is not surprising, considering the pair’s decades-long feud stems from the royal’s disparaging remarks about the journalist.

Charles was on a skiing holiday in the Swiss Alps with his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, when he made the slip.

Speaking to the BBC about his marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles with Nicholas Witchell, the current king fawned over: “Anyway, I’m delighted You heard about this.”

However, when the cameras turned off, Charles forgot he had a microphone on him and made a rude comment about Witchell: “Damn man. I can’t stand that man. He’s awful. He’s really awful.”

To cover up the situation, William steps in and tries to control the mistake with his light-hearted humor.

“As long as I don’t lose the ring. I have a responsibility and I’m bound to do something wrong.”

King Charles is said to have harbored a strong dislike for Nicholas Witchell ever since he announced Princess Diana’s death in 1997.

Meanwhile, Charles and Camilla tied the knot in April 2005 and have been married for more than 17 years.
