King Charles shakes hands and speaks with well-wishers as he leaves Windsor Castle

King Charles III greets the crowd as he leaves Windsor Castle after church service on Easter Sunday.

Earlier in the day, the Queen was seen waving to him while standing outside St George’s Chapel, his most significant public appearance since being diagnosed with cancer.

He then took time to shake hands and chat with well-wishers who had gathered outside the castle.

The king’s attendance at the annual Easter service will be seen as an effort to reassure the public after the royal family suffered a double cancer scare.

The Princess of Wales, who announced her diagnosis more than a week ago, did not attend.
