In fact, contrary to popular belief, Prince Harry learned of Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis before the rest of the world.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a statement supporting the Princess of Wales after she announced her cancer diagnosis to the public on Friday.
It was later revealed that the couple only discovered the extent of the problem after a royal health scare hit global headlines.
However, royal expert Tom Quinn told Mirror Harry and Meghan were informed of Kate’s cancer shortly before she recorded a video message to the world.
“Harry and Meghan were informed that Kate had been diagnosed with cancer, but only a short time before the news was announced on television,” he claimed.
“Telling them would be a big problem for Buckingham Palace because if they kept Meghan and Harry in the dark ahead of Kate’s telecast, then the couple would risk complaining again that the royal family was treating them poorly,” Quinn explained road.
The royal expert added: “Telling them shortly before the telecast means they can’t complain about being ignored and the palace also knows there’s less risk the couple will reveal secrets before Kate telecasts.”
In a statement issued shortly after the princess announced the news, the Sussexes wished “Kate and the family good health and recovery and hope they can do so privately and peacefully.”
