Is Meghan Markle making poverty ‘photogenic’ for clout, royal expert comments

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is under scrutiny after accusations surfaced regarding her recent visit to an underprivileged school in Harlem. Royal commentator Jan Moir, in a piece for the Daily Mail, criticized Meghan for allegedly trying to make poverty appear ‘photogenic’ for personal gain.

Moir highlighted Meghan’s visit to a carefully chosen inner-city school in Harlem, where she reportedly handed out release forms, prohibiting the spread of stories and personal images on social media. “You’d think she’d want to keep the whole embarrassing project under wraps,” Moir commented. The school in question has a 91% black and Hispanic student population, with 95% qualifying for free or reduced-price lunches.

Moir questioned Meghan’s intentions, stating, “For if poverty is regrettable, at least it can be photogenic,” referring to the new cushions provided for the children during the event. Moir also implied that the school visit was a promotional stunt for Meghan’s children’s book, The Bench, inspired by her son Archie.

Moir revealed details about the event’s organization, including emails sent out to 11 broadcast outlets, 17 photographers, and seven reporters. The school was allegedly urged to portray the event as a charity initiative rather than something promotional.

Moir compared Meghan’s actions to the charitable work of the UK’s Royal Family, emphasizing their dedication to initiatives for the greater good. She criticized Meghan for allegedly exploiting poverty while promoting her book and pretending to be a royal in exile in a republic like the United States.

The allegations have sparked discussions about ethics and intentions surrounding high-profile charity events, leaving the public divided on Meghan Markle’s true motives during her visit to the school in Harlem.

Kate Middleton has feelings of ‘competition’ and ‘resentment’ toward Meghan: expert

It is still a war of the Windsor women between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

The Princess of Wales, 41, reportedly feels “competition or resentment” toward her sister-in-law, 42, according to a relationship expert.

Louella Alderson has revealed why the two are not particularly close, and how their respective husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry, are still at odds.

Alderson told The Mirror recently that there are “clearly unresolved issues” between the “Suits” alum and Middleton.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex married in 2018 and have since moved to Montecito, California, since taking a step back from the royal family.

“Since Meghan and Harry’s relationship started, there have been several reports of tension between her and Kate,” the expert explained.

She went on: “These tensions have likely only grown between the two since Meghan and Harry’s departure from the Royal Family and their subsequent media interviews where they have made controversial statements.”

The So Syncd founder then claimed that the “underlying feelings” of resentment that Middleton could have toward Markle could stem from the “positive attention” that Harry, 39, and Markle received during their stint at the Invictus Games earlier this month.

The pair jetted off to Dusseldorf, Germany, for the Paraolympic-styled sports events where they showed off massive PDA.

The Duchess of Cambridge may also have “been feeling uncomfortable or unhappy” with the aforementioned couple being in the spotlight.

However, Alderson believes that the under-the-radar emotions from Middleton “don’t always match appearances.”

“Meghan and Kate have been played against each other in the media, with constant comparisons being made between them. This could have added pressure and tension to their relationship, especially if either of them has a competitive side,” she explained.

But Alderson has come to the conclusion that the “real rift” is actually between William, 41, and Harry, and not so much between the royal ladies.

She stated: “It’s possible [the brothers] will eventually find a way to reconcile and move past their trying issues with one another. Doing so could open the door for some sort of reunion between Kate and Meghan as well.”

Both the former actress and Middleton were not exactly great pals before their feud.

“They may be able to maintain a cordial relationship for the sake of their husbands and children, but it’s unlikely we will see them becoming best friends anytime soon,” Alderson suggested.

‘Charles won’t be bullied into apologising,’ King Charle’s friend reveals why he won’t say sorry to Harry and Meghan

Prince Harry has made it clear that he wants his father, King Charles, to apologise to him and his wife Meghan Markle before he considers returning to the Royal Family. But, a friend of the King has revealed that Charles is unwilling to say sorry to his son, despite wanting to end the rift between them.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit their roles as senior royals in 2020 and moved to the US, where they have been vocal about their grievances with the monarchy. Harry has accused the royal family of neglecting Meghan’s mental health and being racist towards their son Archie. He has also expressed his disappointment with his father’s lack of support and understanding.

In an interview with the Telegraph earlier this year, Harry said, “The way I see it is, I’m willing to forgive you [the Royal Family] for everything you’ve done, and I wish you’d actually sat down with me, properly, and instead of saying I’m delusional and paranoid, actually sit down and have a proper conversation about this, because what I’d really like is some accountability.”

“And an apology to my wife.”

However, a friend of King Charles told the Daily Beast that the King does not expect or demand an apology from Harry but does not intend to apologise to him.

The friend said, “It has been reported that Charles wants an apology from Harry, but that’s far from the case. [Charles] wouldn’t expect that. He knows the Windsors are a stubborn lot and Harry is no exception.”

“The quid-pro-quo is, can Harry accept that he won’t be getting an apology either?”

“Don’t forget that Charles authorized Jonathan Dimbleby to write a book which attacked his parents, but ultimately they all basically forgot about it, chalked it down to experience and moved on.”

“Charles wants to hit the reset button—but not at any price.”

The friend added that the King hopes to reconcile with Harry in the future, but he is not ready to compromise on his principles or values. He said: “Charles loves Harry dearly and would do anything for him, but he won’t be bullied into doing something he doesn’t believe in.”

The relationship between Harry and his father has been strained for a long time, but it worsened after Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

ALSO READ| Prince William and Kate’s popularity skyrockets, Meghan and Harry hit a low note

In the interview, the Duke of Sussex said that Charles stopped taking his calls after he left the UK and that he felt “let down” by him.

Harry also claimed that his father and his brother Prince William were “trapped” in the system of the monarchy and that he had to break free from it.

“I was trapped but I didn’t know I was trapped. My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave,” he said.

Harry’s comments have reportedly hurt and angered his father and his brother, who feel that he is betraying the family and damaging its reputation. According to sources, Harry is not on speaking terms with most of the senior royals, including Charles, William, Camilla, and Kate.

Harry has said that he still loves his family and wants to heal the wounds of the past, but he also wants them to acknowledge their mistakes and apologise to him and Meghan.

Here’s one skill Meghan Markle wants her children to master

Meghan Markle has revealed that she hopes her children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet, will take up skiing someday. She said she hopes they would do so during the next Invictus Games set to be held in Canada in 2025. Meghan herself is not a skier.

The Duchess of Sussex reportedly said in a conversation with Bridget Bridge, the wife of an IG25 board member, that she wanted her children to learn skiing. “Meghan said that she really wanted her children to learn to ski and that maybe Whistler was the ideal place,” Bridget told The Mirror. “She said she didn’t ski so we told her they must come and learn.”

Many members of the royal family are known for having an inclination towards skiing, including Prince William and Princess Kate. Previously, the Prince and Princess of Wales, who know the sport very well, travelled to a ski resort called Courchevel in the French Alps.

Princess Diana was another royal who loved skiing. She would often ski in locations such as Liechtenstein and Klosters in Switzerland. She would take Harry and William along, and it is believed that the two men may have mastered the skill this way. Diana died after a car carrying her and Dodi al-Fayed crashed in Paris’s Pont de L’Alma tunnel on August 31, 1997.

Prince Harry asked to ‘give notice’ to visit King Charles

Meanwhile, it has been alleged that Harry must “give notice” to visit his father, King Charles, after he was denied a room at Windsor Castle this month. Harry has lived with his wife Meghan Markle, and their two children, in Montecito, California, since they stepped down as royals back in 2020.

Harry had sought a royal accommodation and security from his father’s office for a night, when he stopped for his appearance at a September 7 charity event named the 2023 WellChild Awards, in West London. At the time, his request was denied. The reason for the refusal was that the family’s properties in Windsor or the capital city were unavailable for his stay back then. The Queen died on September 8, 2022.

It has now been revealed that if Harry wants to stay at Windsor Castle when he returns to the UK in January, he will be required to give “suitable warning,” The Telegraph reported. Buckingham Palace reportedly also told him that he would have to put in a “formal request” if she wished to visit his father.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle aides ‘asked school to sign forever gag order’ before NYC visit: report

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had their aides ask a New York public school to sign a “gag order” ahead of their brief 2021 visit, according to a report.

The clause allegedly prohibited anyone at Harlem-based Public School 123 Mahalia Jackson from making negative comments about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “now or in the future,” The Sun reports.

Reps for the couple’s Archewell Foundation sent the Department of Education an “appearance release” three days before their visit, the outlet adds, which was reportedly handled by an NYC schools press officer who had asked the pair for the “best way to get it agreed.”

The press officer reportedly asked to remove the mention of Markle’s children’s book from the release to “make it a bit less promotion-ey,” the outlet added.

Sources close to Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Foundation have since defended the move as “standard practice.”

The Post has reached out to the school, the Department of Education and reps for the Sussexes for comment.

During the pair’s Sept. 2021 trip to the Big Apple, the couple paid a visit to Public School 123 to promote early literacy among young children and encourage the habit of reading.

The “Suits” alum sat down in the middle of the playground with the mesmerized second-graders to read from her best-selling picture book, “The Bench.”

Harry, who sat cross-legged on the ground close by, was heard telling a student at one point during the reading, “It’s great to be back. We love New York.”

Asked by one of the students if she planned on writing another book, Markle said at the time, “At the moment I don’t plan to write another children’s book, but never say never.”

The couple, joined by New York City Schools Chancellor Meisha Porter, also posed with students and staff in front of a mural made by fourth- and fifth-graders.

The Sussexes exchanged hugs with several students before donating two garden boxes with vegetables and herbs to the school.

“Being able to meet her was like a chance of a lifetime. Everyone was really excited. It was a secret from everyone,” art teacher James Reynolds told The Post at the time.

“We have been through a lot in the last 18 months … I think they were just eternally grateful she stopped by. They were great folks.”

Since the trip, Harry also added “author” to his resume with the release of his protocol-shattering memoir, “Spare,” in January 2023, which followed the release of their six-part Netflix documentary,

‘She’s an…’, Prince William’s remarks about Meghan Markle that may have soured relations with Harry

Two sentences about Meghan Markle that Prince William uttered “hurt” Prince Harry, it has been revealed. These remarks were allegedly made by William after Harry had opened up about his budding romance with Meghan Markle in 2016.

William uttered two sentences in 2016, on the night that Harry told him and Kate Middleton about dating Meghan, that reportedly “hurt” the Duke of Sussex. Harry said in his book Spare that William said, “She’s an actress after all, Harold. Anything can happen.” Harry was “a bit hurt,” but responded with a nod and hugged Kate and William goodbye, reported Cheatsheet.

‘The fact I was dating an American actress was probably what clouded their judgement’

During another conversation with William about Meghan, William predicted “a host of difficulties I could expect if I hooked up with an ‘American actress,’” Harry recalled in Spare. Harry added that William “always managed to make” the phrase “sound like ‘convicted felon.’”

In the 2022 docuseries ‘Harry & Meghan,’ released on Netflix, Harry recalled introducing Meghan to the royal family before his marriage, noting that some relatives judged her because of her acting career. “I remember my family first meeting her and being incredibly impressed,” Harry said. “Some of them didn’t quite know what to do with themselves. Because, I think, they were surprised. They were surprised that a ginger could land such a beautiful woman and such an intelligent woman.”

“But the fact I was dating an American actress was probably what clouded their judgement more than anything else at the beginning,” he added. “‘Oh, she’s an American actress; this won’t last.’”

Meghan ended her acting career after appearing in Suits as Rachel. She also shut down her lifestyle blog, The Tig. Harry and Meghan stepped down as royals back in 2020, and now live in Montecito, California, with their two children.

Meghan Markle worried for Harry as he ‘ties himself in knots’ over royal feud

Meghan Markle is said to be deeply concerned for her spouse, Prince Harry, who finds himself entangled in the ongoing discord with the Royal Family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a step back from their royal duties in 2020, relocating to Montecito, California, where they’ve since become increasingly outspoken about their experiences within the Firm.

In his memoir, Spare, Harry did not mince his words, accusing his brother, Prince William, of engaging in a physical altercation with him over Meghan.

Furthermore, the Duke alleged that his father, King Charles, was untruthful during the Sandringham Summit.

Now, a confidential source close to the Sussexes old Heat magazine that Harry yearns for a reunion with his family and feels a sense of longing. Meghan is sympathetic to her husband’s emotional turmoil but also firmly believes it is time to redirect their focus towards the future, the source claims.

They said: “It pains Meghan to see Harry tied up in knots like this. She knows how tricky things have been, so this isn’t a case of her dismissing or minimising his feelings. But, at this point, she really thinks he needs to pull himself together and look forward, instead of backwards – there’s no way out of the Hollywood game at this stage, that’s their life now and she loves it. There’s nothing he can do to change the past.”

The same source conveyed that Meghan encourages Harry to remain resolute and optimistic as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

The former actress aspires to see her husband wholeheartedly embrace the opportunities that Hollywood presents.

Recent developments also revealed that Harry may be required to provide advance notice for any future visits to his father after his request for accommodation at Windsor Castle was denied earlier this month. It has been disclosed that he would need to prearrange his stays at any royal residences.

Meghan Markle drops trademark bid for ‘Archetypes’ after 17-month battle

Meghan Markle has withdrawn her trademark application for her defunct podcast “Archetypes,” months after Spotify dropped the show.

The duchess made the request to withdraw Thursday to the US Patent and Trademark Office, according to the office’s records.

It comes after the 42-year-old’s multi-million dollar Spotify deal fell through in June, axing her award-winning podcast from airing a second season.

The Suits actress’ podcast ran for one season, airing 12 episodes and including special guests, such as Mindy Kaling and Serena Williams.

Markle won a People’s Choice Award for the feat.

The duchess lost all hope of trademarking her podcast’s name on Thursday, as the US Patent and Trademark Office approved her petition to “expressly abandon” the application, according to the office’s records.

It comes just months after the 42-year-old’s multi-million dollar Spotify deal fell through in June, axing her award-winning podcast from airing a second season.
Spotify

After the dissolution of the deal was announced, Spotify’s Head of Global Sports Strategy, Bill Simmons, called the ex-royals “f–king grifters” and “lazy.”

Another insider said the couple had come off as “difficult.”

In addition, it was reported the famous royals didn’t produce enough content to ensure the $20million deal they signed in 2020.

In a joint statement to The Post in June, Spotify and Archewell Audio said they have “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”

Who is Meghan Markle’s ex-husband?

Trevor Engelson was born on October 23, 1976, in New York.

He studied journalism at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

He began his career in the film industry as a production assistant, before working his way up the ladder.

He founded his own production company in 2001 called Underground.

Trevor is now a film producer and is most famous for the 9/11 romance movie Remember Me, starring Robert Pattinson.

He is also a manager for screenwriters, actors, novelists, and film directors in Los Angeles, California and was the executive producer on US TV shows Heathers and Snowfall.

When did Trevor Engelson and Meghan Markle get married?

They were together for six years before getting engaged in 2010.

The couple were married in front of 102 of their friends and family on September 10, 2011, in Jamaica.

The wedding was a four-day affair and pictures have since shown drinking games on the beach in the run-up to the big day.

The ceremony took place in front of 102 guests.

One said: “The ceremony was over very quickly, in about 15 minutes.

“Then everyone hit the dance floor. It seemed they all just wanted to party.”

Why did Trevor and Meghan get divorced?

Shortly before Meghan and Trevor tied the knot, Megan landed her role in the hit TV show Suits.

A source claimed to Woman’s Day magazine that Meghan’s role as Rachel Zane on the hit TV show Suits was to blame.

The insider said: “Meghan landed her role in Suits just a few months before they married.

“And despite being together for six years before getting hitched, things started to fall apart not long after the wedding.”

The source added that a long-distance relationship didn’t work for Meghan and Trevor, adding: “They really battled with long distances.

“Trevor was based in LA while Meghan was in Toronto, a five-hour flight away. It was a very difficult way to start married life.”

The couple separated just two years after their wedding and were divorced in August 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

Royal biographer Andrew Morton revealed in his new book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, that the Suits actress posted back her wedding and engagement rings to Engelson after ending their marriage “out of the blue”.

Has Trevor re-married?

Trevor first met heiress and dietician Tracey Kurland in November 2017.

On June 1, 2018, Trevor became engaged to his nutritionist expert girlfriend.

The couple married on May 11, 2019.

The couple got hitched in a low-key wedding at a private home in exclusive Hidden Hills, California, DailyMailTV reports.

In Instagram pictures the bride can be seen wearing an off-the-shoulder, midi-length white dress.

A close friend of Tracey’s told Fabulous Digital: “Tracey has been a breath of fresh air in Trevor’s life and the two are blissfully in love.

“The name of Meghan never comes up in conversation when they are around friends and we all get the feeling neither are bothered about what happens in her life.”

Although Tracey’s friend claims that the newlyweds are “oblivious to what is going on with the Royals”.

They said that the California-based nutritionist “has been key in helping him recover” from the split.

Which movies and TV shows has Trevor Engelson worked on?

Since the beginning of his career, Trevor has worked on popular and hugely successful movies and TV shows.

He worked on Deep Blue Sea in 1999 as a staff assistant.

After working his way up the ladder, he was executive producer of the 2006 movie Zoom.

Meghan, Harry hobnob with Oprah, Kevin Costner at glitzy Santa Barbara fundraiser

From actual royalty to Hollywood royalty.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took center stage at the star-studded One805 Live! charity event in Santa Barbara on Friday.

The couple — who have just returned from the Invictus Games in Germany — appeared in their element as they hobnobbed with fellow guests Oprah Winfrey and Ellen Degeneres at the event, held at Kevin Costner’s $26 million estate.

Other VIP guests included the parents of Katy Perry, as well as Maroon 5, who treated guests to a live performance.

General admission tickets for One805 Live! cost $350, while a table of “last chance tickets” was advertised for $12,000. The event raises funds for First Responder agencies in Santa Barbara County.

Harry, 39, kept things casual in a black shirt and blazer, while Markle, 42, covered up in a stylish monochrome coat. She wore her hair back in a tight bun and was seen flashing her $20,000 Cartier Tank watch, which previously belonged to Princess Diana.

Harry and Markle were also seen on stage at the event, speaking with Costner before he took to the microphone to address attendees.

‘Good afternoon, everyone,” the “Yellowstone” star stated. “I get asked a lot by my friends who have no manners … “Kev, what’s this place cost, what’s it worth?” I can just simply tell you on a day like today, it’s worth every penny.”

Costner has recently been embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with estranged wife, Christina Baumgartner.

Earlier this week, the star settled the contentious court case with his ex, agreeing to pay more money than was initially stated in the prenup.

Costner didn’t reference his highly-publicized divorce, instead praising Santa Barbara County’s First Responders.

However, the pair are purportedly plotting a move further south, eyeing an $8 million mansion in Malibu.

In addition to their recent appearance at the Invictus Games, Harry and Markle have been making more frequent public appearances over the past month.

The pair were spotted in attendance at Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” Tour concert in Los Angeles on Sept. 1.

Meghan Markle wants her children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to learn skiing, just like their father Prince Harry. She has set her eyes on the next edition of the Invictus Games will be held in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada and will involve winters sports. Recently, Harry and Meghan were in Düsseldorf, Germany where the 2023 Invictus Games took place between September 9 and 16. The event was founded by Prince Harry in 2014 to celebrate the great contribution by military veterans and help them enjoy community life and have good mental health through sports. “Invictus” translates to “unconquered.”

At the closing ceremony of 2023 Invictus Games, Harry thanked the participants and said, “As you have seen and experienced, this week is so much more than a sporting event. It is a platform for positive change. We hope you too are feeling it deeply. I am sure, you’re all physically exhausted, but I also hope you are mentally stronger than when you arrived.” (as quoted by GB News).

Since shunning their royal duties in the United Kingdom and relocating to the United States, the royal couple have been living in Montecito, California. After Harry published his memoir titled “Spare” with bombshell revelations about the British Royal Family, Harry-Meghan’s ties with the family members have been strained.
