Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday busted a terrorist hideout in Anas district.

“Based on credible information about the existence of a hideout in the Daras Banelli area of ​​Anas subdivision, we took action to disinfect the area,” the police said.

During the search and cordon operations, police recovered a large number of weapons and ammunition from the hideout, officials said.

Items seized included two detonators, 12 rounds of assault rifle ammunition, a pull rod, a handheld recorder containing an improvised explosive device, an improvised explosive device calculator, a battery and several connecting cables, police said.

Raisi senior superintendent of police Mohita Sharma said: “Search operations in Arnath area are continuing and Raisi police are committed to neutralizing the nefarious designs of any anti-national elements.”

On April 17, police discovered an improvised explosive device (IED) from a terrorist hideout in the Gursai hilltop area of ​​Punch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to officials, the discovery was made during a joint search operation by the JK Police, Army and CRPF.

The bomb squad then quickly destroyed the IED through a controlled explosion. They added that the operation effectively thwarted the terrorists’ intention to carry out bombings in the Union Territory.

Earlier, security forces on Saturday busted a terrorist hideout in Raisi in Jammu and Kashmir and seized arms and ammunition.

Officials said the hideout was busted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army’s 58 RR Troop in a joint operation in the Rancha area of ​​Reshmahor division.
