Jessica Alba announces departure from Honest Company: ‘Stepping down’

Jessica Alba is stepping down as chief creative officer of The Honest Company.

Alba, 42, announced the news on Instagram on Tuesday, April 9, after nearly fifteen years with the company.

“Twelve years after founding The Honest Company, it is with a grateful heart that I step down from my leadership role as chief creative officer. However, I will continue to provide strategic advice through my role on the board of directors,” Alba wrote.

Alba founded the company in 2012 after serving as CCO of a clean sustainable health and wellness brand. The actress said starting the company was “a true labor of love” and “it was never an easy decision to make.”

She explained to “my mom and my class friends” how she launched her “first concept book.”Alba noted the company’s trajectory of success, writing: “The journey is one of a lifetime and only exists in [her] Wildest dreams. “

“To the entire Honest team, past and present, your unwavering commitment to our mission is what keeps us going. Everyone says you’re only as good as the people you surround yourself with – thank you for allowing me to be the best version of myself, ” she continued in her statement.

“Of course I am forever grateful to our honest family,” Alba wrote. “Please never stop sharing these moments with us. You are our reason for existing. “

“Thank you for showing me that a girl taking an unconventional path in business could help lead a movement for a good cause,” she concluded.

Alba confirmed that CEO Carla Vernón remains in charge of the management team.
