However, thanks to various offers and promotions, the iPhone 15 base model with 128GB storage can now be found at a heavily discounted price of around Rs 65,000, making it more affordable than the retail price in the US.

iPhone 15 sale: How the math works out

The iPhone 15 128GB version retails for $799 in the United States (excluding sales tax). If sales tax is taken into account, the price converted into Indian rupees is around Rs 70,000 to Rs 72,000. However, it’s worth noting that not all U.S. states impose sales tax. Comparing directly with the current Indian market (around Rs 65,000), it is clear that the iPhone 15 128GB is priced around Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 more in the US.

To back up this claim, we have just seen a deal on Flipkart where the iPhone 15 is available for Rs 65,999 and with bank quotes the final effective price is around Rs 62,224 which makes it almost Rs 9,000 to Rs 10,000 cheaper Better than US prices. And this isn’t an isolated proposition; we’ve seen iPhone 15 prices under Rs 70,000 over the past month or so.

Nonetheless, the same cannot be said for the iPhone 15 Pro models, which continue to be priced close to the MRP, starting at Rs 1,34,900, making it nearly Rs 50,000 more expensive in India.

US model does not have a physical SIM slot

Another advantage of buying an Indian device is the added convenience of including a physical SIM card slot. In the United States, Apple has eliminated the physical SIM slot and only uses eSIM. This can be a big problem for many people, especially those who travel frequently and need to change SIM cards.

So, if you want to buy a regular iPhone 15, we recommend buying it from India. Devices sold in the country are not only locally manufactured, but are also more affordable and include a SIM card slot.
