Wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan during the match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in match 25 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Tying his own record for the fastest 50-point game by a five-time champion. Fiery half-centuries from Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar and a five-wicket haul from Jasprit Bumrah helped MI register a seven-wicket win over RCB in the ongoing IPL 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Kishan scored 50 goals in just 16 balls against the Faf du Plessis-led side. The left-handed batsman scored 69 runs in just 34 balls at a strike rate of 202.94 with 7 boundaries and 5 highest scores. He had previously achieved the same feat in IPL 2021 against SunRisers Hyderabad.

Five other batsmen have achieved this milestone in 17 balls, namely Kieran Pollard against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2016, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2021 Kieran Pollard against KKR in 2018, Hardik Pandya against KKR in 2019, and Hardik Pandya against KKR in 2019 (Hardik Pandya), and Suryakumar Yadav are playing against RCB.

Arriving at the game, Mi chose to bowl first after winning the toss. Apart from Bumrah (5/21), Shreyas Gopal, Gerald Coetzee and Akash Madhwal also took one wicket each.

In the run-chase, Ishan Kishan (69 off 34 balls, including 7 fours and 5 sixes), Rohit Sharma (38 off 24 balls, 3 fours and 3 sixes) and Suryakumar Yadav (19 52 off the ball, including 5 fours and 4 sixes) did not give RCB a chance to breathe and sealed the victory in 15.3 overs.

Bumrah was awarded the “Man of the Match” award.

After this victory, MI ranked seventh with 2 wins and 3 losses. They have four points. RCB is ranked ninth with 1 win and 5 losses, with only 2 points.
